Quick sketch from Photoshop. Sticking with OpenCanvas next time I do these kinds of stuff.

Have no idea where to put this.

Hammer map WIP

You know, I was told that a map with prison-like setting would make a great first map, given its flat and box-like orientation. Sure, it was going pretty simple and all.

Then I went a bit crazy. This WIP is result of 5 days of work.

Starting from left to right:

1. The starting point. I spent the longest amount of time on this one messing with the lights.
2. Looking into one of the cells. I displaced about 6 different surfaces, then I copied the rest. Who's going to notice?
3. Some sort of room. Need to carve up the pillars some more.
4. Area right through the said room. I need to fix the problem with one of the double doors being unable to close, but I don't know how. But I'm guessing two func_door_rotating entities don't like being next to each other.
5. The largest section of the prison. I've yet to texture it and place light and cubemap entities. Did I also mention I'm scared of the dark?
6. Turned map_fullbright to 1, which lights up everything to its original value. Here's one of the longer sections of the prison.
7. There are two more hallways, but I blocked both of them off to prevent leaks. But I guess I screwed up.

If you happen to be knowledgeable in Hammer edit and like to give me some thoughts or suggestions, it would be appreciated.

My most recent one. I'm never using paper towel to smudge again.

Why so harsh, h- wait.

Anyways, I did some GMod posings titled Heavy May Cry: Medic Gaiden. I may ditch it because Medic's ragdoll is a lot less... bendy than I expected.

Haha, neat. I remember from my 10 minutes with GMod that the medic was pretty unflexible.

I think the smudging looks great this way. It's a different feel completely, and it fits the piece very well.

From junior year. Ruined by stupidly thick marker.

I will never eat pizza again. Which is a lie, but still.

It's still good if you eat around the edges.

Looks pretty sweet, the eyes bother me though.
Nice work on the detail.

I had an unfortunate case of inking failure and lousy Photoshop editing on the eyes. It's all part of the process now, whether I want it or not. =(

GM191 Black Bear. Still not used to drawing on a huge paper.
